Frequently asked questions

Why do the first five ingredients matter?
Ingredients are listed by weight, so the first few make up most of the recipe.
What is a by-product?
Parts other than muscle meat from an unnamed or named animal; you can't tell exactly what's included.
Is 'meal' bad?
Not necessarily: named meals (e.g. chicken meal) are rendered protein. Unnamed 'meat meal' is less transparent.
